MN ASHRAE President’s Corner - August 1, 2014

Greetings to all Minnesota Chapter members of ASHRAE. For those who are unaware, I am your new chapter president, Dan Chudecke. While it looks like we all take the summer off from ASHRAE, nothing could be further from the truth. Your officers and board of governors have been busy closing out the old year and planning for the upcoming one. We are going to be kicking off the year with events starting in September and will be making other additions to our schedule. Keep an eye on your email in-box and visit our chapter's web site,

As I've worked my way through the ranks of the chapter, the thought that we have a lot of hard working volunteers that make this chapter great comes to mind a lot. More volunteers would make it even greater. We would love it if more people pitched in and helped. Regardless of your business type, (engineer, sales, contractor, wholesaler, owner), ASHRAE is the most important and influential of all the groups related to this industry. Your expertise and experiences can surely help make all of our events more valuable to our members. Many hands make for light work as the old saying goes. So please consider spending a little time making your chapter better.

Lastly, I would like to thank Vin Gupta, last year’s president, for his service to our chapter. It would take many pages to list out everything that Vin has contributed at both the chapter and society level. I will simply say, thank you Vin for making the Minnesota Chapter and ASHRAE better institutions.

Dan Chudecke
